"BELLO" STYLE
Term coined by archaeologists to indicate the style of Attic red figured ware and later adopted by Ballardini for the phase of Faenza majolica following the "Early Historiated".
The "Bello" is also called "Second Historiated" for the complicated narrative scenes which characterise it together with particular *decorative motifs* such as "cerquate" or oak leaves, grotesques, quarterings and trophies.
