It is characterised by a further evolution of the "Istoriato" genre along with the great virtuosity of shape and for the preponderance of raphaelesque decoration, which is inspired to the grotesque and was employed by Raphael in the Loggia frescoes. It mainly consists of such minute elements as panoplies, putti, chimaeras, trophies of war (ancient arms), musical instruments, festoons, within a fine network of vine shoots.
