"PERSIAN PALMETTE" FAMILY

It is typical of the period between 1475 and 1500.
Majolica decorative group using designs taken from oriental textiles and ceramics, especially a motif composed of a flower with overlapping petals and resembling a pine cone.
This flower, called "Persian Palmette"; appears in profile or as viewed from above (rosette), the prevailing colours in the "Persian Palmette" are yellow, blue and orange, skilfully employed.
The strokes in the background make the elements drawn with liveliness stand out.
Plate with wide horizontal rim.
